#125

haha thanks man! yeah im scared to paint it to… but here goes nothin! haha

#126

Hey Christopher, That’s Awesome! Like you are as well! Haha, I do really like all the design and details this character and his artefact has , also the composition I think the especial fx will look more powerful than I’d expect
. Best of FUN with all those crazy colors :arteest:

#127

Hi Flork, that is mega awesome! Very stylized and i totally dig your sketches, i’d love to see your final render.

Is that the whole image though? I just thought the composition feels a little heavy on the left, and that you may have cropped it? I rather like the pile of dead peeps on your comp-1 sketch more because of the shape/silhouette too… but if was cropped then i’ll just have to wait

I’m sure you already have a vision of your final image at this point…i’ll be watching!

#128

Damn, thats excellent. Cant wait to see it on my desktop heheh. keep going.

#129

thanks Axel! i hope i dont let down your expectations!

#130

thanks man. yeah i liked it too, but it just too much attention away from my main guy and looking back now im confident in my decision to condense it.

haha no thats the whole image! hopefully with the bacground clouds it wont look so empty.

#131

haha thanks man!

#132

ok here heres my colors so far as i go to bed hehe

#133

Hey Christopher,

 Looking pretty darn good! Love the red and black with gold assets already! They really involve mysticism in the color palette and a magical mood! The composition looks good he does have a center of attention as powerful as you intend it to be, I think! Really great WIP!:wip:

#134

Nice looking good! Becareful not to overwhelm it with details and colors. You want to have a focuspoint!
Looking foreward to see more!

#135

So much for your earlier claims that you weren’t very good at digital painting. This is looking great! David’s got an excellent point about not overwhelming the image with details. Also, it’s worth thinking a bit more about your values: If you were to make this image greyscale, you’d see that the greys in his armor are a pretty similar value to the sky behind him and don’t pop as much as they could. Consider brightening the sky behind where he is to make him stand out more strongly. If you’re in Photoshop, I always recommend keeping a hue/saturation Adjustment Layer on the top of your stack set to Saturation=0. Then with one click you can toggle it on and off see how the values in your piece are reading. Good luck!

really cool concept man. i cant wait to see more developments of this character.

Looking fantastic mate! Love the developement of your thread. Definitely with the final painting, keep the lighting simple and strong. I agree that you can push the contrast some more, to separate the figure from background. Keep it going.

#138

Hey Christopher, your composition looks really cool man! You can achive a great environment and atmospher for your character. Take more contrast on your character than on the background and sourranding items, and use rim ligths on the armor for the red back lighting, only a comment  Awesome work mate! Cheers!

#139

thasnks axel!!! i was trying to give it a creepy fary tale feeling like int the movie “legend”
