DWIII - 2D - Rezeroth - Garabath

#93

Oh god…you just reminded me of how little time i have left. I was still happily sketching *pulls hair

Yay to an update to Garabath! Though the orthographics are a bit difficult to read… the profile view especially seems quite confusing… perhaps either separate the arm, or give the body/arm more contrast? And for the front view for example, maybe you could make the cloth behind lighter to separate what is at the foreground and background?

The hand is interesting O.O All the best!

By the way…is it strictly a 1000 x 1000 px dimension for all the submissions? Can it be maybe 1000 x 800 or something of that sort? I’ve been looking around…

#94

Calyx- Yeap i’ll try to fix all that…if i can squeeze in my schedule…my winning pose is still pending T__T… i dont think its strictly 1000x1000px but i just want to be safe…but my winning pose is not…coz of composition. Dunno.

#95

There are max 1000x1000. so it mean that you can do 1000x700 or 700x1000, but not more then 1000px via both sides.

#96

cool stuff dude!! i wanna see more!!!

#97

I just refined the modeling sheet and hopefully things read better than before now… Thanks Calyx!!

#98

Managed to squeeze in this Concept Sheet. Is more than 6 okay? Argh!! No time left!! My Winning pose!!

Well as we all know, the war is coming to an end. Seems like another small chapter of my life had just passed but not empty handed. I learned and gained so much and i could never get this anywhere else or any other way. Being apart of this war was truly an honour. To fight alongside with everyone here at CGS its been rewarding not to mention challenging too…So I came to my end with the winning pose of Garabath. End of War… I salutes to all Brothers and sisters that came this far together and achieve something more than what we thought we could.Let us pray for the lost souls that could not make it and let us all rejoice for the wonderful, priceless experience that we all obtained along the way… I hope that i could fight this war the next time along side everyone here aswell and with some new recruits then ;)…

*Salutes!

Suhweeeet finish!! You suddenly gave me a kick on my butt to go faster…

Garabath looks friendlier than i thought though XD He looks more ‘alive’ too, if you know what i mean. Got to get back to Aveolae now!

#101

Thanks… LOL! dont have to feel obliged to comment on it yet. Make sure Aveolae survives the war… No i did not kick your butt ^^…

LOL! friendly? yar… it feels so… Alive? yar? really? lol!!

#102

Oh, hey, you managed to get it all done. Nice work! It’s all nice, but I especially like the model sheet - so clean and it showcases all the detail on his body and his great silhouette really well. Great job!

#103

Ay Walrus!! thanks for dropping by man! I really dig your final…the concept is really fresh and unique… awesome man!! glad we are fighting this war on the same team… *bows and salutes!
will definitely drop a comment on your thread later…

Yes!Great work and awesome character Rezeroth
In the winning pose the space between his left arm(for us) and his body is filled by almost the same color as his arm which makes it a bit more difficult to read.
Some parts of his body(his legs and esspecaily his leg near us, his arms) seems a tiny little bit less worked out as the central part of his body.
Maybe that’s because you’ve used less outline here.

I like the way your outlines work with the colors and the fact for exemple you’ve used an outside-outline for the shoulders made him pop out more.
Maybe a subtil outside-outline all around him could make him pop out more.
That would be my 2 cents.
Great great work and another great warrior on our battlefields!!!
Good luck!

#105

great designs~ wow…cool sketches too~

#106

This is totally badass from beginning to end. Awesome!

#107

Great job there!! Wow, the details sure are INTENSE! The modelsheets seems a little overkill but the final picture, with the nice complementary combination of colors it did help a lot to define the details. Do you have a larger resolution of the model sheet? I really would like to see more details, especially on the head. : D I also think adding some particles aside from the glowing petals might help enhance the mood a bit, it looks slightly clean at the moment with just smokes.

Once again, beautiful work. Haha! You gotta do more works like this!!

#108

Incredible work, man. Sorry for not comment before, but anyway, you it doesn’t seem I could help in anything, your ideas for design and execution are fantastics. I hope you can stay among the winners in the 2d category. Congratulations for this quality job and for finishing your entry!

OKMER - Yes i agree with ya… There’s definitely problem here and there especially about clarity and readability T__T Thanks man!! Yes im still a sucker for painting with outlines so yup, i’m trying to look for a painting style that would compliment my lineart but not kill it…if ya get what i mean lol!

jingudyi - Thanks man! good luck to you too!!

JeffZugale - Badass yes… i like attributes like that… ;D badass/hardcore/exaggerated/cool lol… but i guess my final piece did make him look friendly

hampsty - Harlow girl crazy about hamster :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: thanks for dropping by…Really appreciate that. Yes most of the stuff are overkilled by details ever since the beginning…sigh…Failz.
Thanks for the comments and i am still learning alot from peeps like you and Calyx about color and painting so… *Bows LOL!! Been busy ay?

jramauri - Thanks man…thats way too flattering…Im still learning myself so i often see lots of mistakes in my work and hoping to work harder. Thank you so very much

Hey warrior Mun!

Well…yeah, Aveolae sure did, but i think your Garabath final colors…wow, you’ve improved a lot! You’ve been doing a lot of coloring back there now, aren’t you :3

I’ve some nitpicks…but again, it could be just me so… aips. To make him more menacing you could have given stronger lighting contrasts, and that you gave a backlit source it could have been very dramatic  The tail could also be less sharp, and could do with more tones to suggests it is curving towards or away from the camera. I like the burning leaf things, but it looks quite…‘soft’, it could be more badass without it i think  Perhaps sparks of fire or something of the sort to replace them.

All and all, still a strong entry…though in all honesty, i feel you could have pushed better than this >:)
Am still very proud of you, mate!
