plan is to flesh out the final pose and then do the concept sheet as I figure the CS won’t take as long as the beauty shot. so all day at work my mind fried over what to make him do or pose like. My big issue was to make sure I showed the viewer all the detail that flows behind him (ie: the rooty back and third leg). posing him just at the side was boring to me. He needs to be doing something. I came up with a few ideas like:
1 - him standing on a cliff, birds flying around him (think hippos with the birds on their back) but since he is so huge, they’d be little M’s. That idea also led to the idea of flowing water through his root feet, which still could be cool.
2 - a heard of these tree beast giants. after watching 10000 BC last night (horrible movie BTW and I’m glad I did not pay to see it…great CG though), I got the idea of a herd of these, elders, female?, younger smaller giants, in the middle of a grass land, and in the foreground having a bunch of soldiers of some sort prepare to take them on. But again, I only kept hitting that block of the side view. again, interesting idea.
3 - a battle scene, where again the foreground consits of soldiers but this time scrambling to take Syness out. It would be a huge action shot, so the FG would be blurry. Syness would be kicking or stomping soldiers away (to show scale). this is probably the one I went with, but a little differently.
Changes I made to Syness:
- trying to pose him with actual legs and a horse like 1 leg in the back : not fun. this will be my challenge, I knwo it will be. So I changed his front legs into a horse. So now, he has even more of a Centaur resemblence.
The scene I’m shooting for now:
like I said in #3, Im doing a battle scene. but I did figure out a pose. Just trying to get it right! here is the pose:

i also have a version 2 of the concept sheet.

let me know what ya think!
