Nice concept. The last image made me think of a project I made with C.P.Company. They make really cool jackets with built in goggels. I think it would be really cool if the glasses opd your character were built into the hood, which she folds down when she uses them.

those ink sketches are gorgeous! I’m very jealous. i like the poses on your latest stuff too, good distribution of weight.
you’re definitely hitting the post apocalyptic mark, but it could use a twinge more fantasy. perhaps a few tweaks to the clothing and some fantasy-like embroidery or markings?
it might be nice to have a bit more asymmetry too. there was a photo you showed earlier with a woman with some big feathers in her hair. something like that might make a cool shoulder decoration.
personally, i’ve never been a big fan of high heels on active characters that have to fight or run around a lot. don’t get me wrong, high heels are incredibly sexy, but they have their place. perhaps something more like high heel boots? that way you could still get that nice arc of the foot, but it’s a bit more functional.
here’s a quick paint over with some reference. i can’t wait to see the final entry!

miscik: Thanks for the paintover, it’s awesome to see someone actually have the balls to do that, it’s a much easier way to communicate an idea or two, pictures say a thousand words.
You’re right when you say “needs more fantasy”, i’m thinking of using the logo as a tattoo around her navel - that could be pretty sexy. Aslo I like the idea of her left hand having a large glove, maybe to protect her skin from the intensity of the orb. and yeah, boots are better than high-heels and can sure as hell be just as sexy!

yeah, paintovers can be touchy, but i felt that you could handle it. a lot of times i get a sense that a drawing could use improvement, but i can’t quite put my finger on what it is until i have my pen in hand and like you said, it’s much faster. i use them (along with sketches) all the time at work, but now i will definitely try and utilize them more in my on-line crits as well.
is there a way to post an image without having the little link box to the images? I’m kinda new to all this stuff. if someone could send me a message or a link i would greatly appreciate it!

That looks great nathe. No way is it too cluttered. i think it comunicates your ideas really well. i can’t wait for the final render, good luck and DONT give up.
i’ll expect to see you at your desk on monday passed out having not gone home, but it’ll be worth it. she’s an awesome character design and all think all the effort you put into her back story really helps bring her to life. plus the goggles rock!

awwww maaan, i knew this would happen! I took ages doing the model sheet and then rushed the final pose which means… yeah… wait for it… it’s in black and white!! …dammmit!
ah screw it, its all about the participationism anyways, and i’ve had a blast! it’s been really cool to get involved on ideas and stuff with friends.

Story Stuff:
Hood is a Star Child, that means she’s fiesty and can get a bit hot under the collar but apart from that she’s doing pretty well as the chosen artifact wielder.
The Star Children, though sounding like a cartoon for 6 year olds from the 80’s, are actually a kick ass race. Created by the stars themselves they are the only sentient beings that can live on the suns of galaxies.
Hood is able, with the most awesome protective power of the sun Glove, to wield the one and only effective weapon against the machines, The Sacred Sun.
The Sacred Sun is the most powerful star in the universe and it’s force can be wrought only by the most perfect of Star Children.
Isn’t that cute?

I threw some red in at the last minute so they can’t pull me by saying I only used black and white for my final image… clever eh? yeah, Cintiq here we come!!!
