DWIII - 2D - Mutant Warlord

love the four armed version. still think it would make a great 3d sculpt and i know what you are capable of but your 2d stuff is really great too. look forward to seeing him finished…if you get the time. you should get that lazy lead of yours to push the polys instead and have a nice break down the pub.

ok, little break from the 3d and back to my fat friend. Basically I am happy to pin my colours to the fat decision and the giant thing and the mutant thing and, hell the warlord thing. I think I’d like him to be a void weilding warlord. Possibly one who devours all before him, a devourer of worlds. Monsieur Mange tout. A Mega Man.I still have loads of ideas and will try to get a load of thumbnails together, but entering both competitions at the same time as we crunch at work now seems a bit optimistic.

Hi Robert,

I like the blob man! He’s huge! the weapon seem to me that need some rethinking on the matter , to look a bit more frightful and less ordinary, maybe instead of a doble sword a huge chain of bones with a huge skull with magical powers? I don’t know haha! Coz I really like the things that are plugged to him like wires fesh tales, so maybe that concept gets more unique attributes to him! Great to see an artist like your self to work in the 2d fields and 3D, with such an excellent way!

#12

This is a great start! I like your character and I think that the last version

is on the right way. Good luck!

#13

ok, still waiting to scan my thumbnails but I did a 5 minute overpainting of Marga Man, lost the cartoony face and clarified other stuff, extremely rough but I did need to loosen it up a lot. Thanks for the feedback guys, I’m still playing with artefact ideas, like the chains and big ball idea, may use it.

#14

well here is a fat warlord, like the tummy mouth getting close to where I like him, just need to bring in the power etc…,

#15

just another very quick paint idea, 20 mins, but not the one.

#16

cool character! reminds me of the “great unclean one” from warhammer. keep it up!

#17

Very nice painting. I like the character, he is scary…

If you put those legs in diferent positions you can end up with a more dynamic image… Avoid the twins as they say…

Keep it up!

#18

Nice painting man! good job keep it up!

#19

more rough ideas, just playing with alternative guys…

#20

Good to see you working hard - I still like the versions with an ugly humanity in the face.

#21

just a mess about exploring the hands a bit more

#22

Wow that’s so massive! I like the size great concepts Robert I like the hands maybe if it got some huge claws as the bug eater mammals they have that characteristic, and also I do like the big mouth, although I will like to see it in different places as a carnivore plant trap? But hey just suggestions you are doing it great!

#23

very nice designs, i like them  yeah…there’s something attractive about fat dudes…

#24

fat characters are always fun to draw! im really digging your concept, how he’s all gore and loves to devour people.

i think you can push him more, maybe make his skin slimmy cover in goo or blood etc that would be cool.

cant wait to see more!

#25

ok, still bashing about a bit. I know there’s not long left but I’m pretty fast when I need to be:

#26

hi guys, ok, another concept, still not right…

#27

Ok, this guy is probably the one:

#28

Basically I’m gonna paint this dude, and hopefully make more of the chains, pull them right through the arm. The artefact is a piece of meteorite encased in an armoured shell, backstory to follow…
