thanks again,

Mike

Here’s another version, got the main idea down, just gotta decide on a pose for my beauty shot and clothing/armor details soon. running out of time!

#49

and again… gonna try a couple more poses I think, but may lay them all out first (for my first 0fficial image entry). comments welcome.

thanks

Mike

Here they are all as a group. I am going to do one more variation to each of these poses to help me decide which one will be my final- so I will have 8 to choose from by tonight. then onto my orthos and final image- we are running out of time.

your fresh eyes and opinions would be greatly appreciated - I have been working with these guys for too long!

thanks,

Mike

#51

Here’s some variations of my final 4 roughs to create a total of 8 to choose from now. I am going to check them out first thing in the morning and make a decision (and dive into some ortho views)

any feedback?

#52

havent decided on a final design yet- agh! but wanted to get ortho views roughed out. comments welcome.

#53

i like the top right one’s pose a lot…
lets finished this thing!

#54

thanks for your input! I am working on it!

#55

Here’s the design/pose that I am pursuing. I have started on some line ortho view views (based off the roughs above), and will be posting those shortly. Its still rough, I am still refining this pose, working on the silhoutte, negative space, read, and armor/costume details- and still need to work on some bg details and mood.

comments welcome!

#56

Nice work - I like the progression on your entry. You have put alot of thought and research into this and it shows. On your variations with the poses, I really liked the top right and left
versions with my favorite leaning towards the top right. You could have easily chose any pose and ran with it as they are all strong in their own way. Good luck and I hope you finish strong.

#57

line work- tonal work next- few more details along the way.

comments welcome

#58

thanks very much! wish I had more time, but whats new. it was a tough decision, but I agree the top two had the most potential. thanks again for the compliments and checking my stuff out.

working on tonal orthos views and page layout designs now… its gonna be a long night

Mike

#59

Here’s the tonal work for my orthos, will look at it with a fresh eye in the morning and adjust from there.

its getting late, will post some more in the AM,

Mike

#60

here’s a logo and image background for my submission. I am going to start laying out each page, and begin working down my hit list of things I would like to get done before I run out of time tomorrow night!

good luck to all of you making a big push tonight like I am.

Mike

#61

here’s my concept page work in progress. depending on how my winning pose shot goes tomorrow, I may add some more content here, but otherwise this will be about it.

I still need to fix some masking issues with this image, and maybe fine tune some of the layout once I lock things down, but any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

made some progress on the model sheet layout too which I will post in the morning… along with some early winning pose compositions. long day/night

comments welcome, thanks

Mike

#62

here’s what I have so far for my modelling sheet. still need to tweak, add comments and add some more images if I have time, need to continue to focus on my winning pose image today.

comments welcome,

Mike

These are really, really great man! You have a great style going for you and I’m glad you put some effort into the layout presentation! Don’t get too caught up in it today. You do have until the late evening, but from what I heard, last year they had massive problems with everyone trying to submit at the last second. Don’t be a victim!

#64

Thanks Firerbert,

I appreciate you comment and compliments. Sound advice on not getting caught up on the layout presentation… this comp. is about the characters, not the layout.

I remember in the last contest I was in (master and servant I think) there was a panic right at the end, and lots of clogged servers, so i am going to try and wrap up early… maybe by 10pm? hehe.

thanks again,

Mike

here’s my (greyscale) winning pose WIP. working on colours now, about half way there. still got a few things to tweak on the other 2 submission images too, so it looks like I got a few more hours at least…wanna try and get my stuff in before the deadline panic
