Alright, here’s a happy post from me-- i’ve more or less nailed what i wanted. In the orthographics Aveolae may appear rather rigid and hard, but i know i didn’t want him/her (androgynous? More she, i suppose) to turn out so… ‘dead’.
My first few drafts i was thinking that i wanted to work with profile views for the winning pose due to the Aons silhouette, but i decided they all weren’t ‘loud’ and didn’t have enough characteristics, and decided against it. Did several other small super quick and messy sketches all over the place… but i didn’t like them. Until i did this 2nd one, and i felt much more content.
I think i managed to capture Aveolae’s persona i envisioned, of whom was trapped in the dark seas for the many many years, and is now free again to unleash her powers. On design, i’m not sure if it’s obvious at this point (it should be after i add colors) but i wanted her to have natural and organic elements enveloping her, instead of any armor, ornaments and et cetera with the logic in mind that she has been imprisoned in the waters, and that they weren’t all that intelligent creatures.
On composition, i tried pushing a dynamic pose and exaggerated some parts, and i quite like how it turned out
Am now wondering about the background…i have some rough ideas, but hmmm.

Well…i remember i quite liked the name so…
Just be sure you wont have a problem for rules, I am sure it doesnt since its only body type, and not exactly element user type, About the final shoot, I really like the idea of her looking down from her shoulder as in your original sketches and face studies, then again she does represents well the dead body look with out adding zombie style in her, she also has some good composition body type ,for war, and fire inspiration forms, I am looking forward for the color version! GREAT CHARACTER!:applause:
Keeping in mind about the fins/horns, thanks! (noticed btw, that you’re from AAU? :))
