good work, but i think the water need more work, every thing else is good.

It’s cool! but I think the water too bright.
good work,keep on.

thanks for the nice comments!

maybe i should comment about the water: the water in this montage is 90% photography! only the reflections of the bridge and the new buildings on the right where added and reflections of existing buildings removed. the 3d renderings featured a water surface which was setup to look exactly like the existing one, to make the compositing process as easy and the resulting image as real as possible. so, the water colour and look in this montage is mostly ‘real’, if you like it or not

Nice picture. I’m not sure what Electric Image Animation System is but it turned out a cool render. Did you have to re-create that photo in 3D? The water looks a little too clean but I guess it really looks like that from the photo.

#6

thanks for the comments! electric image animation system is an animation and rendering application with a glorious past: http://www.eitechnologygroup.com/

still today, camera’s (that’s the name of EI’s renderer) output is one of the fastest and finest available.

the photo was partly recreated for 3d, especially to get the right reflections and shadows on the buildings.

yes, that water is clean, the harbour isn’t in use anymore by the heavy industry, today this area has changed into an exclusive business and media city area.

Hi Markus,

Nice work.

The rail hub in the top left hand corner seems to not merge well with the port.
I think its just the angle of the rail line vs the angle of the ports.

I hope you don’t mind the critique…

Cheers,

Mike

Veryn neat project! very nice a clean image.
Congrats! is the project to be built?
I think the water is very nice… real or not. it doesnt distract from the buildings.
Is there any place with more detailed information on the project?
Good luck, and a happy new year!

I agree…I can’t really describe what’s wrong, but it just doesn’t look…ermm…real ? (the water  )

@cjberg: thanks, mate!

@mike33: the rail hub is there in reality, the photo was shot from the locak TV tower, so the viewpoint was predefined.

@ComputerJero: did you have a look at the original photo?

@Chuquito: thanks for the comments! my last information was that the building probably was not going to be built with this design.

the pedestrian bridge was built in the meantime, see a photo here:
http://en.structurae.de/photos/index.cfm?JP=4374

there is a web site about this area here: http://www.medienhafen.de/
there you will find some even older versions of this twin buildings project, but in his case the visualization was not done by us.

cheers
