I’m brand new to CGSociety and I’m not even sure if this is in the right spot. I’ve tried uploading my concept image in IE, Firefox, and Chrome and they all get to the same place before quitting. I can select my file from the desktop but on the description screen my image does not show up nor can I choose my thumbnail. I tried just typing my comments in and submitting it but it just takes me right back to the description screen with everything empty again. Am I doing something wrong?
Dreamscape challenge uploading help
Hello!
Not here to help but to add one more question.
I try to enter video section of dreamscpae contest and would like to upload my first WIP.
I want to upload a video file which contains a soundtrack, it is the main thing I want to show and nothing happens, it says “about to createSubmission” for like 30 minutes in a white page.
Tried to upload mp3 as well, same issue.
Thank you very much for your help.
Hi All :wavey: ,
Every time i try to upload an image for Dreamscape contest i get the upload bar, it finishes uploading, and then i get redirected to this page
http://challenge.cgsociety.org/entry/submit/dreamscape
Where i get this message:
about to createSubmission
It freezes like this foreve, and no upload, any hint???
Ive tried deactivating my interenet security (kaspersky) and uploading using several different browsers (IE FFox Chrome), no luck.
Thanks , Giulia, yLAn
Hello!
You may want to consider another format or lower file size.
I solved my problem by decoding to another format and finally it worked.
apparently dreamscape hosts forgot to mention technical guidelines for submissions.
best regards,
Yep Jetbird, thank you
, good suggestion!
I was trying to upload it as pdf… (my scanner standard output) instead i should have used jpg
Maybe someone will help here…whenever I try to upload, I either get a PHP error that saying undefined index: requirement, or I get the about to CreateSubmission page. I’ve tried .tif, .jpg, .tif, and .png formats, as well as trying it on Chrome and Firefox, even trying it on Mac and PC. Any suggestions?
I found on another thread that new system is very picky with file names. If you can only get to the submision screen make sure the name of your file has no spaces. My submission uploaded as soon as I took the spaces out.
Hope this helps anyone else.
Hi,
some days ago, I wanted to join the challenge “dreamscape” but when I upload files following messages accourd.
The [font=Arial][size=2]video upload error message was:
about to createSubmission A PHP Error was encountered
Severity: Notice
Message: Use of undefined constant createSubmission - assumed ‘createSubmission’
Filename: models/submission_model.php
Line Number: 50
createSubmissionhttp://challenge.cgsociety.org/upload/dreamscape/uploads/2010-12-18:207940/01Storyline1_Somniator.mov
The movie file was a .mov-file with h.264 codec.
But I also get an error message after uploading .jpg-files when I wanted to view my entry.
Here is the message:
An Error Was Encountered
The URI you submitted has disallowed characters.
Is there anyone who can help me to fix the problems?
I have tried to contact an administrator but I’ve don’t get an answer jet.

File Name Guidelines:
Do not use spaces or special characters in file names.
Hi Kirt!
Many thanks for your answer. It helped me a bit, so the video upload works.
But I’ve already the problem with the second error message:
An Error Was Encountered
The URI you submitted has disallowed characters.
Here is the link:

I don’t know what I’ve done wrong.
robert
My guess is that it is the robert+k. part of the URL which is failing. See if you can change your username and remove the period (.), then try it again. If it still fails, remove the space and try it again.
Many thanks, now everything works fine. I thought I will give up the contest, but now I will try finish my work.
