Dominance War II: Wind Chaser

#21

Hey guys, thx for the comment.

erik_j : hey pal, well actually i hav change the concept of not having any weapons for her since its the ancient issue, i will giv her the killing tatoo that vapourized from her hand when encounter v enemies, but might giv her a small dagger in case her hand got chop off…haha jus kidding, might develop a story for her after the war n make her my short film heroin

Well for the moment started the face texturing, still tweaking here n there for the normal maps, will post up the stills when time comes, so good luck to u guys too!

good to hear! looking forward to seeing textured!

Hey guys, im back v a few updates!!!:bounce:
Basically the model is done v 5792 tris, the tatoo n the killing rays is not finish yet, might need to try n error for it to look nice…n not forgetting the weapon she’s carrying. Will do the setup soon n posing her on a platform then light her up, it seems still many things to do but 1 week is enough, i think…well tat’s it for this time, good luck guys

ps: can anyone tell me how to show the polycount for the final image to b submitted? Im maya user, can i jus put the default maya poly count display? Thx!

really nice leatherwork! only critique I have is she kind of looks like she’s going for a picnic more than an interstellar war  the mood is a little bit too innocent and too clean (appart from that tattoo/infection which looks cool!) etc…
and I think she’d look somewhat cooler with more of that leatherwork on her which is looking great! so nice to see good old brown sober leather garments instead of the latexlike black bondage stuff which’s more common
if it were my model I think I’d let her hotshorts become something more semi-armour-like, covering more of her skin… maybe even if she’s supposed to be exposed if she’s like rather untouchable or such.
great work and again, the concept is great  keep it up!

erik_j : hey man thx for the comment. I also hav doubts of making her too clean as b4, now i hav added some dirt n blood stain on her so to make it like “seasoned” from war. Solution for the innocent look is by making some serious facial expression so tat she will be a less doll-looked warrior.

Here’s the small update on the stains n the dagger design:

a very cute face. and your texturework is great!

about the tatoo. it could be cool if it was glowing, and that the hand turned semi-transparent as the tatoo crawls out on the hand.(glows maps are funny) Or maybe not at all…? But at least i would reconsider the color of it.

the weapondesign looks cool, but i have seen it before, in baldurs gate (the equalizer). Not saying you ripped the concept.

hakanpersson : hey, thx for the comment. I put the tatoo in this colour is because i still wanna link it v the “shadow” concept, the ray will b lik black smokes vaporize from the tatoo so darker col should match the concept…i think.
Grrr…damn the weapon did exist, well i will need to tweak the design then :frowning: anyway thx for the tips

#28

hey pretty cool man unfortunately nothing about the character says ancient. maybe you could add/change something to help with that. good luck!
