I like the new proportions, but tone down the neck a little, or start he trapezious bulging at half or so of the neck.

trying to finish up the high poly. i will continue tweaking the proportions once the low poly is finished. i am also going to try to redesign the head if i have time. one week!?!?!?

very nice head modeling. i think the torso proportions right now looks more like a body builder . i would suggest something more like a traditional greek warrior

You don’t have to fully pump up muscles everywhere, since unlike a bodybuilder, not many people fully utilize their muscles entirely. Like how a swimmer has a V torso and broad shoulder, while a runner has big thighs. Give him a stout enough legs and focus everything on the upper torso, like a boxer’s since that’s the mass most important in dishing out punches.
some of the viens on the arms look random too. Make sure to referance that stuff, most people will know intrinsically that it’s ‘off’ even if they can’t describe why.
That face is damn cool though.
I like the treatment on the face. He looks like an ancient Greco-Roman statue. Nice touch.
it’s good to get some feedback. i agree about the comments on the body. i should have focused more on that before making the additional pieces. the body will get the same treatment as the face, so that may disguise some of the muscle definition. next year, i spend more time in the concept phase!
here is a render of the pretty-much-finished high poly. all the details i didnt get to model in, i will add with crazy bump. also, i will tweak the proportions in the low poly model.

Very nice model! But may I ask why did you rendered the cloak in such manner as opposed to hanging it down?
here is the WIP low poly and texture. i agree that the proportions are a little off, so i will tweak them tomorrow. the reason i made the cape the way i did was for the final pose.

This is a really really cool entry man. The face looks spectacular and the armor is coming out extremly well. I can’t wait to see this one finished!
I’m a huge fan of that head, and the upper armor is nice… but the pounches on the belt really are just… .bleh.
Still, I think you’re really pulling this one off, it just needs more polish. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out

the diffuse is about 75% done. i have a temp spec on their, but i will need to redo that once the diffuse is finished. i put him on a cylinder to remind myslef to make a base. i will try to post the weapon and shield sketches later.

really nice work on the normals… have a slight issue with the boot glows… are they powered? do they need fusion to run just his lower legs? I just don’t see the funcitonality of those. Would be nice if the leather was detriated seing as how the helmet is.
