I have no idea about sculpting, do i need to know just overview it or know it well?
I think Zbrush is the best tool to sculpt, i am right with that?
thanx in advance…
Do i need to learn sculpt with clay to get better scultping and modeling?
there is no need for offline sculpting… but it trains your skill like sketching with a pencil…
and mudbox is also a great app… try z and mud and make your decision…
It depends on who you ask and what bias they may have.
I’ve heard all sorts of complete rubbish passed off as fact about mudbox over the last few months…so I’d urge you to try both and then make up your own mind. But I chose mudbox for a reason…its a far better sculpting experience in my oppinion. But again you should take NO ONES oppinion at face value not mine or anyone elses…
Wayne…
There are two tips I can give you that are common sense. The first is always use reference when you are working. If you are sculpting a human then have photo reference of you subject, and that goes for anything else you sculpt.
The other tip is to always look at your model from different angles - not just front, side, and back, but at 45 degrees as well. So take that model and swivel it like a madman
. The point is that you are working in 3D and at some point either the model or the camera is going to move, and your model has to look good from all points of view.
this can be a chore though. It’s rather hard to get a seven foot winged demonic apparition
to sit still during a photoshoot:D:)
