Djv 2.0.4

#1

Hi everyone,

I’m happy to announce the release of DJV 2.0.4, an open-source flipbook player for VFX, animation, and film production. A lot has changed since the last time I posted here, DJV has gotten a full makeover with a brand new UI, improved performance, and lots of new features. Some highlights:

  • Multi-threaded I/O for fast image loading
  • Color management with OpenColorIO
  • Audio support for movie files

Check out the movies on the new website for a preview of the new features:

Also DJV has joined the 21st century and is now on Twitter! @djv_opensource

As always any feedback is welcome!

Thanks, Darby

This is Amazing! So fast, big improvement on loading exrs.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Such a great tool.

Thanks, that’s great to hear! There are some controls for changing the number of threads in the settings (gear icon in the upper right) that can also improve the performance. Which reminds me I need to write some documentation about it…

This is fantastic news. Thanks for making such valuable software. I literally use DJV every working day.

I love the exr performance, but without a way to edit gamma or exposure, gotta stick with version 1.1

Hi sentry66,

There are exposure, gamma, and a couple other color controls in the “Image Controls” widget. Unfortunately the site isn’t letting me upload screenshots right now, but you can find it under the “Image” menu. Click the menu item “Image Controls” to open the window and then click the “Exposure” tab in the window that opens up.

oh ok, found them

Kind of a weird thing, but when I adjust the exposure control, I’m not getting an HDR reaction. It’s behaving like LDR
