How rude of me. Let me introduce to you the very talented Robert Brady! Modeler & Rigger extraordinaire! How’s things back in Brisbane?

Yeah, I just forgot to get a copy of that before I left. I’ll have to make some phone calls. I’m terrible when it comes to reels, I always forget that I even animated some things. Thanks for reminding me, that Limbo Auctions was some killer stuff!

Incidentally, I’ve re-edited my reel again. Changed the music and re-ordered everything as per suggestions on the list:

Man, my server keeps getting knocked over, and I’m upping the bandwidth by 10gb increments. That means it had roughly 416 hits yesterday alone! I underestimated you guys. I’ll see if I can crank the bandwidth right up.

As Rob said definatly needs some of the limbo stuff in there. if i had of known earlier i could have slipped a cd in with you book, oh yeh have you got that yet?
Anyway hope sydney is treating you well! and yeh must agree on the office being rather quiet now your gone, mike does try to make up for it, but its just not the same.

nice reel…although im not too sure about the 5 stars stuff…

Some of the reel just looks very linear and snappy too me (mainly chicken little). There doesnt seem to be any real arcs in there and he just seems to be snapping into poses in a very linear fashion. Dont mean to sound harsh but the chicken little seq’s really could use a day or so smoothing out.

as i said before tho, nice reel.

No, I agree that they all could’ve used another day or so to polish them up a bit. I am always careful to incorporate the 12 animation principles, especially arcs. All the Chicken Little stuff was done at 20 seconds per week (that’s 4 seconds a day! We got a week to do 4 seconds at Disney), and I haven’t gone back to finish off any of the animation (partly because I don’t have the scene files). I’ll keep an eye on my arcs in the future though, thanks for the heads up. I agree, even in the snappiest of movements, you gotta remember your arcs! Thanks for the critique! :thumbsup:

Nice reel but I would have to agree with others regarding to a little touch up. However I do understand that you don’t have the scene files. Pity
by the way, the edited version is much better than the original version.

Impressive work. I’m not an animator per se (just done a little animation here and there), but I too feel that the animation was not as top-notch as a 4-second per week animation… so…
why not put a “disclaimer” in the reel, saying all animation was done on a 4-second per day quota? I know animation should speak by itself, but still… I think it’d be a good piece of information for a future employer.
Just a thought :slight_smile:

Very nice aniamiton. Your movie rocks and all but if you want critisism then part of the napkin under chicken little for a while when he was on top of it was in the air. that is all. Cheers!

i feel ur animation is faster than pixar animation, why? is the director want that or it’s ur animation style (( chicken … ))

In response to malfyyy: I worked on Chicken Little with DJ so I can say the snappy style was what the Director was after. (HI DJ how’s Sydney?)
