We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Media Editorial/AV Implementation Technician to join our team in Burbank, CA.
The Media Technician will work with a wide range of systems and technologies in support of Feature Animation productions and day-to-day operations. Systems supported include theatre and projection systems, Editorial non-linear editing workstations (Avid), videoconferencing rooms, transfer and duplication systems, DDR workstations as well as Audio and Video patching and infrastructure.
Responsibilities: AV Support
- Provides editorial and audio/video technical support services including hotline telephone support, system setup and installation, trouble shooting and problem solving and routine maintenance
- Systems support including computer based non-linear editing systems (Avid)
- Analog and digital audio and video post production systems(telecine, video/audio duplication), Film based editing systems (KEMS and synchronizers)
- Provide technical support, routine maintenance, coverage and repairs for Transfer Room operations
- Provide customer service support and training as necessary
Responsibilities: Implementation Support
- Implementation is a secondary, but integral part of the Media Group. Responsibilities are to install Media systems designed by Project Engineers. This position encompasses all responsibilities for the manufacturing and implementation of cabling assemblies and equipment installs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparation, pulling, cutting, looming, lacing and installation of signal cabling.
- Solder and terminate all types of connectors i.e. BNC, XLR, TRS Jacks
- Rack mount equipment
- Prepare run sheets and cable labels associated to AutoCad documents representing the design.
- Excel, Word, and Label application experience a must.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with soldering, complex crimping, and other related wiring skills.
- Ability to utilize test and measurement equipment for continuity and propagation purposes.
- Working knowledge and fundamentals of film, video, and audio production, post production and presentation environment. As well, basic knowledge of animation process required.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule and accommodate production needs.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and requires immediate decision-making
- Ability and willingness to cross-train and mentor others
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule and accommodate production needs
- Working knowledge of Unix, Linux, MAC OS 9, and OS X, and Windows NT, 2000, XP operating systems
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity of AutoCad
- Must be able to work under stress with a variety of personalities while maintaining positive professional attitude.
- Must be able to work under tight time constraints with the ability to deliver service.
- Must be able to travel out of state
- Knowledge and fundamentals of film, Digital Cinema, video and audio production and presentation environment, including analog and digital video, interlaced, progressive and segmented frame High Definition Video formats and issues relating to pull up/pull down and various sample rates
Education
- High School or equivalent experience required, Associates degree preferred, IEEE Certification preferred.
