Disintegration with Fluid and Particles with blender 2.54

#1

Hi !

I’m new in the forum and it’s my firts tread. I have 9years of experience and work with XSI and Maya ( mentalray , renderman or 3Delight for the renderer). I’m learn Blender at home when I have some time because I’m impressed how many thing blender can do for free. Now i’m working on a project with a friend and start some R&D of disintegration ( bloody ). I have not a lot of time with my job and the family but two or tree hours per week I lauch some simulation and render on my poor computer. I want to share you my first tests and all comments and/or suggestions is welcome.

As you can see , I have a couple of problems with the way I do that for the first test and with the particle in 2.54 for the others. Read the description of the videos and sorry for my poor english. A link of the blend files is available in the video description too.

PyroEvil I like your tests. I think you need to make the skin more eleastic instead of such a hard surface.

Also with Miikah’s new dynamic paint you could have the skin stained by the blood.

btw what was the resolution of your fluid sim?

Thank a lot.

This test is more for searching a cool effect with fluid and particles then a shaders.
I really don’t take about shading , lighting and rendering setting. One year ago I’m make a cool SSS 3layers nodes skins shader, I want to use it for my project but just for test is multiply the render time to mush ( and i have a really poor computer at home ). I can try to make a little video of my Skin shader one day to share it with everyone.

The resolution of my fluid is about 156. But the resolution is relative to the space size of you domain compare to the size of the fluid I think. Anyway it’s the maximum of resolution I can put with this scene because my computer have just 1Gig of ram ( when I said really poor … ).

Yes the dynamic paint is really cool but I let’s it on the side for now with the same reason of the shaders and others stuff. I’m just looking for a disintegration setup. Stay tuned on my youtube channel to see next step of my project !

nobody else have comments or suggestions ?

many of those particle explotions can be fix if you raise the subframe number, its under the physics tab in the particle menu, also will help raising a bit the damping and particle friction at the collision object.
it would be nice if you add some colission object to the blood, to simulate or faking the particles fall.

thanks Belich.

The strange thing is in blender 2.49 I don’t have this particles going everywhere. Probably because the default subframe in 2.49 is different than 2.54 ?

Blood have collision property already. But many pass trough blood. Probably subframe can fix that to ? I’m not sure because fluid is not a real motion I think , is a unique geometry for each frame read from cache and no in-between frame exist. I can try some test to see.
