Directional Light


Hi guys,

I want to implement a basic N dot L lighting model. Both directional light types (target and free) have a cylinder or box that the light is confined to. I don’t want the light confined at all, is there a way to disable it ? Thanks.


Overshoot? (But no shadows)
Are you writing a shader or just setting up a scene?


No clue what a basic N dot L lighting model is, but you could use a sunlight as a unconfined directional light


As I understand standard direct lights in max shooting parallel rays - that’s why they have circle or rectangle as a base for light cone
Sun is also confined to circle - parallel rays
Uhh… now I read your post again- " not confined at all"
Than put any light in completely empty scene. Or tell what do you want.
