Differents: MotionBuilder-Endorphin

#1

Hi, I wanted to ask, where are the differents between the MotionBuilder and the Endorphin Software, because the MotionBuilder is much cheaper!

greetings…

Hey Stefajo,

The major difference is that MotionBuilder allows you to generate motion capture and keyframe animation while Endorphin allows you to simulate collisions of rigid bodies (either props or characters) and will allow you to import motion capture animation to simulate those effects.

So, in the end, both generate animation but differ in the way they “generate” the animation. If you are looking to generate character animation - Motionbuilder is the way to go. If you are looking to simulate collision physics on your characters - Endorphin is the way to go.

Ok, thanks for the answer. And now I have another question  :
If I have attachet a mesh with the “Physice modifikator” in 3ds max, can i import it to Motion Builder and animate it there?

greetings…

edit: Ah, and an other question: Is MotionBuilder only to animate human charakters, or can I animate animals, too?

Not sure what Physice modifikator is, but basically you have to make a skeleton that follows MBs setup and heirarchy add any weight maps you need. Then you export that via FBX to MB do all your animation and send the newly saved FBX back to your 3D software to render.

You can do biped or quadraped characters/animals…you can even do mulitlegged 6+ characters like spiders etc…but you would need a custom rig for more than 4 legs.

re: quadraped, don’t know how accurate this is, but interesting:
