Destroyed New York Street

#1

Hi all. I’ve decided to pick up a peice I was working on a while ago but took a break from. I’d like some comments on what I have so far. This is the first time I’ve posted any of my work on this forum so I’m not sure what to expect.

My idea was to do a destroyed NY street, long after a massive world wide disaster.

Here are a few stills. 1 is textured with procedurals, but that was just so I could hand it in as a school project. I have since removed the textures and gone back and improved the lighting and want to continue modeling some more before I proceed to make textures for it in Photoshop.

Any and all comments/crits are welcome.

Thanks!

Wow, this looks like a lot of work! They always say it’s much easier to destroy something than to build something but I think this isn’t true for 3D-Models
Some (destroyed) cars would look good I think, anyway - great work, keep it up!

Good and detailed work realy

What we see is buildings and roads only maybe you should try adding some details that is more adjactive to human who used to live there. (Maybe some thing like bus stops, telephone cabins or cars like wayfaerer mantioned about… )the more you relate the scane with past events of people the more consantrated feeling you will get.

keep it detailing you have a realy nice disortion in NY

Thanks for the comments. I have been using real pictures of the area to help me figure out what to put in. For those that don’t recognize it, its the NYSE and down the street is Trinity Church.

As was meantioned, its a lot of work to add stuff to a large scene like this.

I think it looks very nice. But I don´t know what in the 3rd picture in the middle is? :banghead:

Looks good. Don’t know if you have gotten to the texture phase yet but you need dust, debris, trash, rubbish. All the chaos stuff that makes a scene look more realistic.

Oh that, right I forgot to say what that is. In the actual animation that I did for my school project I had a futuristic probe fly through the scene with front lights scanning the area as if it was looking for something.

mmh well, i would get rid of it. It doesn’t reach the quality of the rest of the image.
Or just make a better one
