Demo/Practice shots for tracking/matchmoving

#1

I couldn’t find any forum to post about matchmoving, so I’m posting it over here. Correct me if I’m posting at the wrong area.

I’m looking for some practice shots for Matchmoving. I have done matchmoving before at school and with my own shots (mostly shaky & handheld), but since I don’t have access to production quality camera equipment, I lack a bit in tracking good dolly, crane, slide and nodal pan shots.

So, can anyone suggest any place where there are practice shots (preferably sensor size & focal length mentioned). Or may be some matchmoving challenges?

Or any place where I can get stock footages (preferably free), or what you guys do to keep your practice going?

Help appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Devinsupertramp on Youtube shoots a lot of cool stuff with a gliding steadicam:

Some of his videos are in 4K resolution.

In the description under the video he often lists what camera he used for a video (like Canon 1DC).

When you said matchmoving practice, I immediately thought of his videos.

The Assassin’s Creed In Real Life video for example is fabulous:

Also be sure to check out the Around The World In 4K series:

Again, very beautiful gliding shots in true 4K.

I bet that you could matchmove all sorts of cool stuff into those shots.

I hope that helps you…
