Decision between 2 books

#1

Hello friends,

Hope it’s ok to give links here from amazon.com. I couldn’t decide between those two books;

After Effects Apprentice, Second Edition

and

The After Effects Illusionist: All the Effects in One Complete Guide

Both are had great critiques but I can purchase only one. Hoping that some of you had those and recommend any one of them.

Thanks in advance friends
K.

There’s no contest. Chris and Trish Meyer’s books are the gold standard. (It’s hard for me to admit that, since they do my job so much better than I do.)

You can check out some free excerpts from the Apprentice book that I link to from After Effects Help.

Here’s a blog entry that links to their more advanced book, too.

Nice topic

Can anyone recommend a book, that has some awesome workflow tips in it? I am a begginer of AE, and I am still familiarizing my self with the interface with the ambition of combining my Flash skills with AE. Any suggestion is welcome.

It got good critiques. Looks like a good book.

Dear Todd - of course there’s no contest. I’m currently only able to afford one AFX book and both got great comments and they both look great books so I’m undecided :frowning:

Read above “There’s no contest” that ToddKopriva wrote in post #2 - it says Apprentice by a mile. THAT’S the book he is recommending to you - not both. :slight_smile:

Thanks :slight_smile: I will look into it.
