Dealing with Reflection (Mirror/ Reflective Surface)


I trying to find ways of speeding up my renders and though maybe by rending in passes, it could help speed up with some of the workload. I decided to break up my scene into 2 layer. BG and FG layer which is all my accessory items used to decorate the scene. With only the BG scene rended, its fast. The problem is the mirrors in my scene. If I render the BG only, I could see the reflection of a table but without my accessory items on it. If I render the mirrors with the table and object without the BG, I dont see the BG in the reflection. Is there any tips on dealing with this type of tricky scene? Its a interior walkthrough animation render. I’m using scanline because of company workflow ; (
