[/b]WHO IS THIS TALK INTENDED TO:This talk is intended for all Artists of all stripes. From 2D/3D Animators, Graphic Designers to Traditional Artists intereste to learn more about their rights under US LAW.
On Thursday, May 22th, DC_SIGGRAPH
will hear a presentation from John Saint Amour. Mr. Saint Amour is an senior Public Information Library of Congress Copyright Office. He will be talking about the fundamentals of copyright law and how it relates to visual artists.

The United States Copyright Office, a part of the Library of Congress, is the official U.S. government body that maintains records of copyright registration in the United States, including a copyright catalog. It is used by copyright title searchers who are attempting to clear a chain of title for copyrighted

The emphasis of the talk will be about the core copyright protection available for visual artists under US Law and the basics of US copyrights.

Since its beginning in 1974 as a small group of specialists in a previously unknown discipline, ACM SIGGRAPH has evolved to become an international community of researchers, artists, developers, filmmakers, scientists, and business professionals who share an interest in computer graphics and
interactive techniques.
