Cyborg concept - first week drawing after a decade

#1

Hey guys,

I can’t even begin to tell you how nervous I am posting in here when there are so many mind-blowingly fabulous artists lurking around these parts.
As the title suggests, I’m one of those people who stopped drawing for the longest time, though enjoyed it a whole lot as a kid.
I randomly had this strong desire to pick up my sketch pad and Wacom tablet (which was collecting dust) to sketching and creating this week. I’ve literally been pumping one drawing out after the other, but it’s such a relief!

This one is my first digital painting, to be honest it gave me a bit of trouble and I think that my depth in the scene, lighting and spacing is all kinds of off, but I suppose I can get better from here.
If anyone has some suggestions on how I can improve from here on, I’ll genuinely be listening and taking your words on board. To me, it doesn’t look anywhere near a ‘fniished’ piece, but I’m not quite sure how to get there.

Thanks so much everyone.

(P.S if the image uploads weird I apologize in advance, first forum post insert awkward grin here

I’ve been away for a while due to family stuff, and also because I stopped getting email notifications to the forum subscriptions. So I have a lot of threads I need to catch up on. I’ll start here with your thread.

Your painting actually doesn’t look too bad. Your understand of values and colors and materials shows you’re not a total beginner, and you can handle digital tools quite well too.

What are your artistic aspirations? What are your immediate goals as an artist? What are the weaknesses you want to strengthen?
