Curve Net?

I went through the guides, did a search through the archives here and on Google and I can’t find any good info on how to use this.

It seems this tool requires at least 2 curves for U and 2 curves for V but every time I try it just creates a Diamond shape in the end.

I’m using 7.5 trial, and I’ve not bothered to learn this tool in the past. Can anyone give me a detailed example on how this tool is at least supposed to work? Hopefully with pictures.

The basic work flow is.

  1. Select U curves in successive order. Then right click to start next set.
  2. Select V curves in successive order. Then right click to finish.

If you are having odd shapes, perhaps some of your curve u parametes don’t match. Why not draw a curve and duplicate it for each U,V set to see if you can get it working?

Ok, I understand that now, but I was and still am having some difficulty understanding why this is any different than a boundary? Like for what example would you use a curve-net instead of a boundary (four-sided)?
