Crysis 3 launch trailer

#1

I am surprised nobody is talking about Crysis 3 here considering it is hands down the most amazing looking game ever made.

Check out the launch trailer here (watch in 1080p)

I meant to pick this up earlier as it came out here today, but I got too busy and have a busy weekend ahead too. Typical! Looking forward to playing it though, it looks fantastic.

Proper link to trailer is here.

Finally! i hope the game is as fun as the trailer shows. I like it that they given him some attitude to match the track by ZZtop in the trailer hehe.

It really is fantastic, they also really pushed the faces this time around, much higher quality in both the model and the animations.

I finished the singleplayer last night and I must admit there were quite a few times where I got killed because I was too busy staring at the landscape or some special shader effect.

Graphics aside, I loved the characters - The way they were written, plus their acting felt very “real” in that morally ambiguous manner.

hey pip did you play crysis 2? how would you compare it to 3. I am part way through part 2 but haven’t gotten around to completing it as yet.

#8

I think it’s much better than Crysis 2

#9

Finally a new shooter worth playing :buttrock:

I have just started playing and the game looks fantastic in so many ways, it’s just impossible to run with all settings maximized, even tuned halfway down it still lags a lot. Maybe my machine is no monster rig but it should do fine.

That attitude, and the music, made the trailer for me.

#12

Lasted 15 minutes and I’d had all I could take. It felt like every other fps I’d ever played and I’m really getting sick of the lack of gameplay innovation/experimentation in this field.

#13

Just bought it, installing it now. Basically I just want to run around, looking at grass and shooting randomly into the water.

#14

The water is actually pretty cool–has the animated ripples if you go in, and in some places there’s a caustic effect that animates on the walls according to the motion.

#15

Is that not the most kickass suit ever?

when the beta dropped i downloaded it and put all the settings at max. it brought my little quad core machine to its knees, lol. it was so bad i had to do a task manager exit because i couldn’t move or get back to the main menu. are most of you playing the pc or console version?

#17

I think it’d be a waste to play something like this on console.

#18

Yeah I did play it.

Gameplay wise: I found it far more liniar, which was a bad thing since I loved the freedom of movement in the first game. I blame it mostly due to the setting which is a relatively normal city. That limits the way levels can be designed.

Story & Crysis universe wise: I did not care about the player character of Alcatraz. This is mostly due to the fact that he never says or does anything that shows any sense of personality. He is pretty much not a character in that regard.
The enemy character Lockhart is also pretty much cookie-cutter villain.

Apart from that, I enjoyed it. It had some small nice throwbacks to first game dialogwise, and gives some pretty important information towards the end of the game. (Info that explains several things from the first game)
