Really nice matte Chris! If I was to crit anything it would be that the rocks on the left need to be a little bit darker but thats just being knit picky and an opinion. Keep up the great work man!

How is Double Negative treating you??

#3

wow a great image here, the feeling and overall detail is awesome, you did a great work here man, a lot of attention to detail I wouldn’t change anything to it,
is that all photo manipulation? did you use 3D or painted elements?

great work , I love the mood !

#4

thanks a lot for your comments guys, I really appreciate it!

Matt: Thanks mate! Dneg is ****ing awesome  People are great, work’s great; really nothing I could complain about!

Jaime: Thank you very much! It’s all a vivid mix of photos and paint; no 3D involved. Initially I wanted to integrate some Vue stuff, because I’m playing around with that package at the moment, but I couldn’t quite get the textural variety and realism I wanted, so I didn’t in the end.

Great to hear that your having a good time! I am sure you are learning a ton from all the artists there. And if you feel like dropping a few of the 2012 mattes in here dont worry , i wont tell anyone!

Surprised this hasnt had more response, this absolutely rocks mate! Congrats! The lighting reads really well, and the ice in the water along with the reflections just looks awesome! Didnt even notice the figures on first viewing, they add a lot to the scale.
Hope to see some more personal works again soon, been missing the sketches!

still havent seen that bloody exhibition; although I really want(ed) to. i’m not even sure if it’s still running here. However, I’ve been to the Tate Britain the other weekend. Man, that’s the shit! Did you ever get a chance to go there while you were in London?
How are things for you at Blizzard? Hope you rock that place mate

Chris,

This is a really great piece of work. You have captured a really nice mood with this one, great attention to detail as others have said, really nice work!

#16

aaall good levi

and thanks chris!

#17

Very nice environment, mood & lighting!

#18

Wow! I don’t know what to say. It’s amazing work. Looks like a matte for a movie. Everything has pretty much already been said. One thing though… Really, kind of subjective I guess… To me, the two guys walking on the ice above seem to be a little large compared to the boat. Like they would have an uncomfortable time in that cabin together. BTW, I would love to see a much larger version so I can have a closer look.

#19

hey chrike thts awesome dude… amazing work. thnx for sharing

#20

Thats very nice. Can you tell us a little bit about how you did it?

I have been away with work for a while, this is the first time I have seen this, love the mood colour and composition.

I can feel the cold air wrapping around me, awesome.

Nice to see guys from the forum doing so well.

Dont be a stranger!
