Creating an ObjectId Pass with a custom render?

#1

Hey guys,

consider you have an object which consists of 30 subobjects.
All of the subobjects got a seperate flat color
( rendered with 3dsmax - Render Elements ObjID)

Now of course its something different then rendering a RLA File with
a built in Object ID Pass.

But my question is, how can you build with this pass and perhaps
the Channel Boolean an Object ID pass.

( I want to color correct specific subobject of my main object during
an animation)

I want the same as rendering a RLA file with a ObjectID Pass implemented.

Any hints on that??

put your beauty in the BG of the channelboolean, the ColorIds in the FG

then set the RGBA values to “do nothing” and in the aux channels check “enable aux channels” and set ObjectId to “Hue FG”
after that you can use the “pick objectID” option in the tools

but be aware that this will give you nasty edges where colors intersect and if you have to many colors in the IDpass it will not be able to seperate them cleanly

hey michael,

thanks for dropping in againg
, hmm seems that this forum is not so much alive :-/

Cool will give it a go as soon as possible, thanks for the tip mate.
In my view the channel boolean is a little bit confusing
perhaps i have to work more with that.

but be aware that this will give you nasty edges where colors intersect and if you have to many colors in the IDpass it will not be able to seperate them cleanly

Hmm, i thought of that, isnt there a way or a workaround for that?
I will try that out later, maybe i can find a solution.

Thanks for your support buddy…

cheers
