Okay, firstly hey all. You’re probably looking at my post count and thinking “omg! it’s a newb!”. Well, you’re right! I’m asking for assistance (although i hate doing itas a first post) because i have a burden to undertake in the october half term and i should really get up to scratch now.
So my current knowledge is fairly limited. I use 3DS max and AfterFX, both legal. I don’t use any other software (oh, and i think i may have mocha for tracking but i just use the inbuilt system in AFX). The extent of my knowledge is about gun shots (tracked!) and bullet hits, including on people. My 3D expertise is making a tank, and animating the turret to rotate 90 degrees. (I couldn’t figure out how to make RayFire shoot a projectile from a tank turret into a wall

RIGHT. To the current problem! 
I’m asking all of you out there the best way to blow up a shed. My age is quite a concern, being 14 i don’t think it’s right if i suddenly import explosives and in the middle of a quiet village a shed explodes. I’ve also read up on law, and things like the Firework act of 2003 governs types of explosions and what/where/when can be set off. So, it has to be 3D. Unless you know a legal way of blowing up a shed irl.
Now i can create a shed, easy. A replica shed of the one we’re using, easy. Making a realistic explosion, smooth, and believable might take some work, which is what i’m asking. How can i achieve a realistic shed explosion?
The current script (yes, it’s a 1 hour film :/) shows one person in the shed (internal shot), then suddenly one other person outside thinking that person no.1 is inside it. (when actually he’s being dragged off) Person no.2 races towards the shed, just as it explodes. Debris raining down, Person no.2 looks up with a blackened face and minor rips/shreds to their clothing, and some minor scratches to the face, to find a pile of rubble where the shed would be.
One final note: The shed has been built, and we are able to do whatever we like with it. Except blow it up in real life, unless you are so mean you want us in jail
