Create a single piece from a 3d assembly on 3dMax

Hi, I’m new on this.
I want to know if it’s possible to take a .max file full of different pieces (car 3D model) and convert it to an stl file. I tried to export it but it doesn’t print well. I want to know as well if I can do a mesh of the whole model to achieve it.
