crashind issues

#1

I’m working on a G5 with 5gb RAM, and seemingly randomly, VUE 6 just tells me
“A fatal error has occured.
the current operation cannot be completed and the application is about to crash…”

it has happened a few times in a row when i am scrubbing through the timeline.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this?
I recreated the file using the same files and everything. Is it a random corruption of a file?
Any help is much appreciated.

On a macbook pro with 2 GB of RAM, I usually have this happen on scenes with lots of objects. it acts pretty random, I’m not sure if it’s an A follows B thing.

Try this - Go to File, Options, click the Display Options tab. Uncheck the Enable Background draw thread box. Random crashes are almost always caused by video card issues.

Enable background draw thread, was already unchecked. (rats)

Any other ideas?
Starting to make me crazy.

Also, i had been using a PSD image (with layers) on the ground, i changed that to Tiff and I think that has helped a bit.

Sorry, that was the only tip I had.
