Is there such a thing as a CP weight map ?
Thanks !
Not in A:M that I’m aware of.
But with Hash’s implementation of weighted CPs you can get quite accurate results. You can even right click on individual CPs in the model window (not the bones window) and edit their weight percentages.
A weight map would beat the hell out of picking blindly at random CPs to adjust weights.
Do you think A:M will have them anytime soon ?
…Nah.
Actually…
painting weight maps are a PITA if you want to be very specific about CP attribution. In a poly app where things are typically pretty dense you kinda have to paint em on, in a patch environment where the CP’s are sparse the tools in A:M (11.X and higher not 10.5) are actually far superior to painting maps (IMNSHO).
Have you taken the time to explore those tools yet? you can edit the weights for individual CP’s or groups of CP’s balancing weights or assigning them manually, spreading the influence of a given point (or group of points) across any numbers of bones. It’s simple straight forward and intuitive (again IMNSHO.) I put a group of weights into a characters face just yesterday in about 10 minutes… I don’t think I could top that with painting weights in some of my other apps.
I Would like to see hash implement a ‘mirror’ weights feature but other than that I really like what we have here.
