Could use some help with Mari!

#1

Hi all

Hope this is relatively simple to answer, but its been annoying me all day! I am in the process of designing and building a large scale game environment for my University Final Major Project, and am currently trying to texture a model in Mari that I have made in Maya, and unwrapped using Headus UV Layout. I have seen this problem pop up for a few people after some extensive googling but my problem still isnt solved. I am trying to use the paint through tool onto my model, but the resolution is very poor when viewed up close. I have tried using different buffer sizes, higher res images, and re-positioning/re-sizing the UVs but to no avail, and its a simple 4k model (according to UV Layout).

Can anyone lend a hand?

Thanks

How big are your actual UDIM patches? Changing the buffer size, using high res references, etc isn’t going to make a difference if you’re ultimately projecting onto, say, a 1k patch.

UVLayout says that they are 4k patches

You don’t embed a texture resolution into model data. What size patches has Mari applied to the model?

Not to worry, I figured it out. Was a really simple re-sizing fix, think the main solution was a good nights sleep!

Thank you though!
