corrective blend shapes

hey guys i know this has been touched on plenty of times but for some reason when i add blend shapes “front of chain” i t adds it on top of my skin cluster am i doing something wrong then when i move the blend shape down the chain the shape i made is like amplified for some reason. im jus tryin to find a good work flow for creating correctives ive looked all over the net an the information is kinda vague

one article said to pose the char dup it 2xs then name one positive an the other negative an apply back to the mesh set the positive to 1 an neg to -1 then when that shape is done dup it an use it as the corrective but that seems to fall apart

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
