copy sculp with displacement

#1

first thing, i would like to thank all those here who take their time to answer questions,
i have been asking alot of things lately, and i hope you dont feel i am spamming this forum with them
i have twin models side by side (horns), and i couldnt figure out how to use tangent mirror with 2 models who arnt a single mesh.
what i tried to do, is sculp one, and then bake the displacement, and sculp the other with that map,
but nothing happens,
they share the same UV space, but not on top of each other.
i did menage to sculp with displacement befor, and i did get results, but this time, just nothing

this is the displacement map (original file is Tiff)

i will take a look into these problem…
but i have to to test something fist…

meanwhile you could bring those highres horn into maya and mirror it over for baking a dispmap in mud…

edit:
the left horn is totaly unsculpted, right…?
and you baked between level0 and your highres the dispmap…
so those basemeshes are not the same… cause the sculpted level0 is deformed during the sculpting process…
think thats the problem…

Its the same mesh, and they are both at level 3,
have the same polycount.
the left one is not touched in mudbox, all but adding levels so it would be the same as the right horn

why not create displacement for horn 1
go to photoshop cs 3or up (so it can support 32 bit )
mirror the displacment so it match the uv of horn 2
you might want to have your 3D app (maya for example) to create a UV snap shot so you can use it as referance when you do the mirror …

or
export level 0.
go to Maya > seprate the horns
Make horn 2 UV match horn 1 in UV space (there i an option in Maya that can do that)
re imprt 2 horns in Mudbox
apply dips
