I’m struggling to figure out how to set the color of a series of cloned area lights. I’m using two effectors to control the color of the hexagons: the plain effector to make the hexagons’ luminance channel fade to black in the distance, and the random effector to randomly set the color between green and orange. I have an area light that is in the same cloner, but the color of the area light corresponds to the channels I’m using in each effector (red and blue).
As you can see in the image, the cloned area light is not emitting the right color. I need it to emit the same color as each corresponding hexagon, but I’m not sure how to do this, or if it’s possible. I’m open to Python and/or Xpresso if necessary. I am trying to avoid global illumination because I want to animate this scene.
I have attached my scene file below. Does anybody know how I can make the cloned area lights have the same color as the corresponding hexagons?
