Considering V8 but worried about XP

I don’t remember where I saw this, but I recall seeing a post somewhere on the forums that xpressionist doesn’t work properly in V8 on a PC. Is this true? (even in V7, EI crashes 2 out of 3 times when I want to edit xp)
