Confused About Animating a Shot!

#1

Hi there,

I’ve started learning animation for about 4 months and I have done some Pendulum, Bouncing Ball, Character walk, run and jump practices using paper(so rough :D) and Maya and I am bored a little. now I want to go further, animate a shot and tell a very short story but I have no clue how to start doing that. what should I do first after defining the story? then what…?

And as general, what are the subjects that I need to learn as an animation student? and by what order!

Unfortunately I can’t take any courses right now and I have to learn whatever I need to learn on my own, using books, net and video tutorials… so please help me with the Subject and also the resources if possible.

Any help will be appreciated…

For beginners, try Digital Tutors - They make the best tutorials if you are new to maya.
If you are finished with basic movements and such, look up Gnomnom.com - They have a lot of professionals from an industry that do detailed and long tutorials on how to perfect the movements of your character
There are some tutorials on youtube too, just google it
