Concerning entries in cgchallenge.com

I was wondering if someone had the same remarque. I think we can improve the chance of all by doing this little modification on the gallery page. I mean there actually are 2 ways of displaying the chanllenge gallery: by default it is"last update" and we can change the order by clicking on “score”. That’s already a good idea. But according to me the problem is that when a challenge is finished and no accepting entries, because people have to vote, the default display still on “last update”. So we always see the same guy with the same picture on the top of the page and this can help hin to have better chance to get voices. But there can be a great picture on the 4th page that only a few will take time to consult.

My question do lildragon is: what about putting a random display by default when the challenge is over? This way, we can avoid ridiculous “too many update” at the deadline just to be on the top of the page! Chance will be the same for everyone.

What do you think of it cgtalkies ?

perhaps if all the entries were on one page too?

well I doubt seriously that they could put all the entries for any of the categories on one page. Remember we still have people on dial up (i’m not one of them anymore thank god ) and waiting for one giant page to load would suck .

i would like an overall thumbnail page for easy browsing. then we can select and vote from the entire field quickly.

I second the idea put forward by tascitus. The way it used to be was really nice, with a page of small thumbnails.

i dont mean the whole images on one page, i meant the thumbnail thingio too

umm as far as i remmber the past challanges did have a page full of thumbnails, but back to the topic the random idea is cool donno if its probable depends how the site is made, sometimes little changes liek that are very hard and take alot of work to get in but if its ez cool!
cant wait for that new challange

I agree with Delapouitte and think the random view is the best choice and could stop the stupid update race we have see in the final deadline challenge…
