Compressing 32bot AVIs with Alpha channels...

Hello.

Does anybody know if it is possible to compress an AVI file which is 32bit with an alpha channel in the format A8R8G8B8? I have tried compressing with HuffyUV and Softlab NSK JPEG + Alpha in VirtualDub but instead of retaining the alpha information, the alpha’d areas are fully opaque and black…

Has anybody come across this problem before?

Is it actually possible to compress a 32bit alpha AVI with an alpha channel? Has anybody been able to compress an AVI with any alpha information at all?

Maybe the Indeo codec might help you…
