Hey
I have a problem I was wondering if anyone could help with. I’m new to Maya but not 3D.
I have a model that has around 100 individual textures I want to combine to one lower res map for use in a game. I’m trying to do this with Transfer Maps as it seems the best way. So the process I’ve been doing is to create a second version of the model then start the transfer maps baking process transferring the 100 textures from the first shape to the second. At the end (of a very long render time) I end up with a second model that has one material and one texture map as I need.
However the problem is that the second texture map only contains one of the 100 textures and it has been tiled all over the second shape. On looking at the UV map I see that all the 100 textures tiles are on top of each other under the first UV unwrap.
My questions are:
Is this why the second map only contains one of the 100 textures?
How do I rectify this? i.e link or distribute all the 100 textures to their corresponding UV tiles.
I hope I’ve explained this okay. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
