Has anyone tried to composite a isolated displacement pass from a reyes renderer over a diffuse pass in another renderer like Mental Ray? I’ve just been thinking about trying to combine the best of both worlds and seperating out displacements seems like a tricky problem. Maybe I shouldn’t be thinking about it in terms of passes …
I’m also interested in hearing about other situations in which you have been able to combine the strengths of two different rendering architectures.
