Colour Mode and printing

#1

Hey guys
I have a question for those of you who know about printing documents.

So, a long time ago I played the colour mode along time ago and currently have it set to Monitor RGB - iMac (I have an iMac)

Now, when I open a document a box pops ups titled:
Embedded Profile Mismatch

It gives me three options.

- Use embedded colour profile (instead of working space) (I normally choose this one)
- Convert document’s colours to working space
- Discard embedded profile (don’t manage colours)

For a start, what does this mean, and how can I make it stop?
For the record all the files I am opening are paintings I have started and finished only in Photoshop.

Secondly, I am printing some documents for an art show, and when I have printed in the past, at FedEx Kinko’s from a PNG file, the colours are not the same as they appear on my monitor.
Mostly, they are darker.

Any sugestions on how I can achieve a print loyal to the same colours on my monitor?
Should I change my colour mode?

Thanks,
Chax

For print out work, change your files color mode to CMYK mode, then it will be fine.
hope this will help U.
