Hello everyone. I’m trying to get some skills in coloring. I’ve got a little bit of skills with the drawing part (allthough not even close to the stuff being posted on this forum. I’m blown away every time I’m here), and now I’d like to color my drawings. Preferably in photoshop, but painter is allso good. So I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any good coloring tutorials. I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
Coloring tutorials?
Mini tutorial:
-
Make yourself a line drawing.
-
Set the layer to ‘multiply’- makes all the white areas ‘transparent’.
-
Create a new layer. Color.
There you go.
Ay, but I’m willing to bet that someone, somewhere, doesn’t. Maybe a 6 year old who just got his first wacom?
Hi and welcome to the forum.
What kind of colouring ‘style’ are you aiming for? That could help narrow it down. And why and so on. Anyway, you can run a search also, probably lots of tutorials hanging around all over the place. ‘Step by step’ is also a good search. G’luck.
This is an outstanding set of articles on color theory http://www.handprint.com/HP/WCL/wcolor.html
Thanks everyone.
Some of the artists that inspire me the most are Feng Zhu (www.artbyfeng.com) when it comes to the concept art stuff, and Gez Fry (www.gezfry.com) when it comes to all the other things. His colors and coloring are damn near perfect. Everything that man does (artwise that is) actually makes me just a tad bit hot.
