I self-study design. I design websites. Color has always been my weak point. I started reading books, watching lessons and completely confused. What type of color wheel should I use to achieve the best combination of colors?
In the Photoshop has two such types:
Complementary combinations in RYB model do not give in Add mode or mixing a neutral gray color. But a combination of tertiary RYB looks more interesting than RGB
I think the RYB is more painterly, and offers a great perspective that lets you escape the complements or near-complements that are most obvious if you only thought in RGB. But, that said, I don’t think there’s one correct answer to this kind of question. You have to try things, and sometimes try pulling colors from 3 points spaced around a color wheel instead of just 2 opposite points, and see which color schemes actually work in context.

Color choices is much more than just mathematical choices and where to pick from a color wheel. You have to consider other factors such as psychology, emotional response to colors, color trends in culture (tech gadgets, graphic design, public spaces, home interior design, vehicles, fashion, etc).
The traditional color wheel is more artistic, while the RGB color wheel is more technical. You also need to understand the difference between subtractive and additive color mixing–that’s the main difference between digital and traditional color mixing.
