I’m at school right now, and they block imageshack so i can’t see the update, but it sounds retty great from the sound of things. =) I’ll check it out when I get home, and then start some modeling. Wish me luck on my chem test today.

#122

Chem test, huh? That brings back memories…

#123

thanks guys. wanted to get something up to show proof of life @ my end.

#124

I’ll keep the position open but you’ve got it if it’s still available when you’ve completed your projects!

#125

I’ve started reworking my pods to be a little more… poly count friendly :stuck_out_tongue:

#126

Those engines look fracking sweet. Pods too Justin. I need you to tell me if you want the shape to be similar to this, before I individually model the smaller arms and center.

P.S I decided to redo the back half of the bigger arms. I don’t think it works well with the front end, and I feel like it look smoother and less clustered. I just see your guys models and its makin me want to do a better job.

#127

hell ya man! that looks great

#128

shipyard looks good Panzano.

#129

Great thing is that’s a medium distance model too! It isnt even the high poly version  We’re gonna be making segments of the dock yards in extremely high poly (1-2m a pop) for the closeups in the docking/undocking sequences.

#130

FANTASTIC SHIPYARD Panzano. Any idea of the size Length (How long is it) size of the arms? Can’t wait to see more updates. Especially on how ships enter and leave.

#133

That is a BRUTE of a machine.

#134

Nice config there. You got the same mouse as I do
The only things I’d consider upgrading are the HDD (I’d plug in another one at least equal in size - you can’t have enough disk space) and see about investing in another 19" for a dual monitor setup. Dual screens seem like overkill and unneccesary - until you try it. I work on 2 20" LCDs at home, and since I got the second one I can work much more efficiently.

#135

NICE COMPUTER all I can say is be ready to add more disks as you can never have enough. Drawings get large very fast and so do collections of pics for ideas.

#136

Great, now 3 team members have very similer machines  And yep, read that article and taken it one step further with talking to friends who’ve worked on Galactica season 2 and 3

#137

good stuff. should make for some interesting feedback.

#138

edit: never mind

#139

neat! Mind doing a skylight/raytracing render?
