Colonial Ceremonies and Trials - BSG-77 (large images)

#61

I`ve just been using a skylight set to samples 10

#62

We just need a normal viper then one with FTL capibility; a sort of scout viper if that makes sense. So yeah, one with some extra hardware, perhaps on the undercarriage of the cockpit or something.

#63

Ok, I’ll think of something. I’ve been toying with the idea of a longer, two-seat training variant anyway, so I might do something in that direction…

#64

Neat, add missiles too; it can be an FTL capable bomber  Priority however is finishing the viper you’re working on now; THEN we can get to the bigger one  Also; Decided againced using a Raptor cockpit… we’ve got something better. A liner transport cockpit… big one. Below are some refs I’ve prepared for your use should you decide to take this on - it wont be easy but you’ve only got to build it to support a 180 degree view, nothing too bad.

Warning: Ultra large image Space Shuttle Cockpit

#65

great references justin.

is this just regarding the intro scene?

my plan was to model all the bells and whistles for the MKVII cockpit.

also, i can take on more. if those drones still need doing or whatever.

let me know.

#66

Nice. I’ll start in a day or two, as soon as I wrap some other stuff up. The ref images you provided are from different cockpits - I have BSG mini series and first two seasons on DVD so I’ll try and dig up some ref images of the Colonial One cockpit.

#67

the first couple/few refs ARE the colonial one cockpit

Gonk: We have the drone already  I just havent posted it.

#68

Can’t wait to see the cockpit modeling. I did some little updates today on the first arm.

#69

Yeah, I know, I meant to say that I’ll try to dig up some more refs of it and concentrate on doing the colonial one cockpit as true to the show as possible. Will post wips soon, hopefully,

#70

Good to hear fellas, nice update too.

Colonial one would be great however if you’d perfer you can make whatever you’d like as long as it’s a large transport similer size to a modern day AirBus 320.

#71

Can’t wait to see some renders. I basically finished the first arm, so I’m gonna go on to the next one. Wish me luck.

#72

good luck Panzano. looks good so far.

i was hoping to get some wips up today but, the ice storm in my area is causing power outages so my renders keep getting dumped. hopefully things are sorted out soon.

#73

Thx. We get alot of snow storms up here in Maine, but theres usually no power outages. Gonna be nice though. =) Also, Justin are you gonna show us that drone you did?

#74

Looks great guys. BSG fan here so I’ll definitely keep my eye on this. Especially looking forward to the Vipers.

#75

I didn’t do the drone, Mr Michael did (1of33)

#76

I’d say I’m done with the mesh. Next step - texturing.
Admiraligor - seems I’ve got three things to do for the animation. One is to texture the viper,
the second is to make the FTL capable scout/attack variant we discussed earlier, and the third the cockpit of a transport, possibly colonial one or something similar.
What should I do first?

#77

Cockpit is more important than anything else right now tbph - it would allow me to get the intro scene made.

#78

Will concentrate on the cockpit, then. Unfortunately, I have to take care of something else tomorrow, but I expect I’ll be able to start the day after tomorrow. It shouldn’t take me too long to model it, though, it doesn’t seem to be too complicated (although things like that have a way of surprising you ;)) At least the mkII mesh is done…

#79

have a question. is the second ring on the canopy an indent of the outer ring or an extension of the glass?

#80

I greatly trust this man’s work so I’d ref off of it. It’s fabio authorized too which means it must be accurate!
