Do you guys still need a viper mkII? I’ve been working on one for over a month now, and the mesh is nearing completion. Still need to complete all the cockpit detailing and the landing gear before I start texturing.
Here’s some screenshots, let me know if you think this can be of use to you.

#22

Yes, that would be excellent; thanks for your contributions. When you’ve got some updates, just post them here or link us to them  Welcome aboard.

#23

A small update for today, working on the midsection between the dorsal and ventral hulls.

#24

Looking great, Hobbes!

#25

I’m assuming you’re talking to me here…
At any rate, here’s a link to my mkII thread on the sci-fi meshes forum, you can see all the latest updates there, just don’t look too much at the old pics

I go by the username of ‘newman’ there. I’ll post the bigger updates here, too. It’s nice to be a part of this. Take care.

#26

Yep, was talking to you  Welcome aboard!

#27

Thanks, man. Love working on BSG stuff

#28

quick post to say hi.

looks like i’m taking care of the Viper MkVII for the project. should be fun.

i’ll start posting wips once i get the main body blocked out.

references shouldn’t be too hard to track down but, if anyone has images to share it’s appreciated.

#29

Also from Toronto!

I have many good references for the Mk 7 I’ve gathered, so I could save you a little time. If you send me a PM with an email address I should be able to help.

#30

Welcome to the team, Gonk! Looking forward to adding your skill to this big project!

We need a low poly Viper and a High poly one, MkVII. I think we may be able to get ahold of a low poly one from a set of game models though but if you feel like making one go right ahead! Keep us updated!

#31

thanks for the welcome.

high & low poly shouldn’t be a problem.

knowing there’s already a low poly backup is good though just incase of a time crunch or whatever.

#32

Hey there gonk, welcome! From one viper modeller to another - I can make you some DVD caps of the mkVII if you’ll need them. Just post here, or on SFM, or PM me on any of the boards.
Take care.

#33

hi nighttrain. whatever you can pass on will help.

i’ve been keeping my eye out for any decent cockpit images you can use. nothing so far but, i’ll keep looking.

thanks.

#34

I found an EXCELLENT cockpit image, check email!

#35

Well, recently I ordered BSG: mini series and the first two seasons from amazon, and they’ve arrived a few days ago. So, in regard to the mkVII, just tell me which angle you need, and I’ll see if I can find something.
Does anyone know what’s up with sci-fi meshes? Can’t get to the site, been like that the entire day now.

#36

looks like they are updating the site or something

i will be needing an outline of your Vipers so that i can i can make the launchers tubes
so if you can post an outline i can get on with them ok

It´s nice to see these different projects come together.
Are there any plans to fill the scene with lots of detail work (e.g. low-poly Colonial Shuttles in the proximity of the shipyard, unfinished hulls or wreckage being worked on in the different drydock areas, …)?
@nighttrain: Don´t forget that SFM is currently undergoing some heavy maintenance work. That might be the reason. Either that or some admin executed a DROP TABLE query.

#38

Yeah I know about the maintenance, but they warned about possible slowdowns, not complete forum unavailability. Hope it’s not another big crash…

#39

Hey guys , just wanted to let you know that I will be modeling the shipyard (or atleast attempting) as soon as Justin uploads some concept art. It’s gonna be awsome. =) And as I said on msn, awsome job on the models. Hope I can atleast begin to meet those standards.

#40

welcome aboard Panzano.

i’m guessing the shipyard will be a pretty big undertaking. looking forward to seeing the concept and end result.
