Codecs and Adobe

Hey all,

I was wondering what everyone used as codecs, specifically as intermediate codecs to export from your compositing app to your video editing app? We’ve started using Avid’s DNxHD which seems to work quite well. Apple’s ProRes seems the best- I could edit in ProRes 422 on an old macbook pro with a hard drive no problem.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about DNxHD. We use Cineform where I work. If you need to preserve alpha, you can always go the QuickTime with PNG codec.
