Hi! Please post in your portfolio (you can use a separate folder within your portfolio if you like) and then select the correct category from the GENRE list. Thanks!

Hello!

Under the creatures category is says biped or quadruped. Can you have a four legged creature with two arms or a two legged creature with four arms/appendages? Those are would still count wouldn’t they? I have a couple of ideas but don’t want to pursue them if they technically don’t fit the brief.

Cheers in advance!
Jonathan

Will there be any penalty if I don’t submit anything at the final day?

Hi all, here are the updates on the Environment rules:

We are looking for unique and one of a kind environments

  • Environments must include at least one original creation or architectural element (model).
  • Users much submit model WIP views of their original created assets.
  • (Judges will favor entries with more original creations/elements, but kitbashing and paintovers are allowed.)
  • Kitbashing is allowed but must include at least one original creation or architectural element (model).
  • The final submission must be a rendered still image using your 3D software, or a dedicated renderer.
  • Must have 3 different renders of views of your environment
  • Applications like Pixologic, ZBrush, Allegorithmic, 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, etc. can be used.

If you need additional clarification, please let us know. Thanks!

Hi, as Kuramisora mentioned, teams are not allowed for this contest. Thank you!

#33

Hi Jonathan, Yes, that’s fine. Thanks for checking!

#34

Hi, you may not be eligible to win if we don’t see your WIP images in the gallery by March 2nd and your final images by March 9th. Thanks!

#35

Hi, Yes the images should be exclusive to the contest. These are to be unique pieces created for the contest.
If you can prove that the image shared elsewhere was uploaded after the close of the contest (after March 9th), then that should be OK.

#43

Thank you for the info.

#44

Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend reviewing the terms and conditions, titled “The Andromeda Design Contest - Official Rules”.

We would suggest reviewing in particular, sections related to eligibility and transferability (e.g., we would not be able to have prizes assigned/transferred to alternate persons).

We generally would address further specific requests and questions in greater detail once potential winners are selected and contacted.

Thank you!

Bipedal and Quadruped would include something like say a whale, dolphin or seal yes?
Might be a redundant question but I thought better to ask

Also I have the student version of Maya, is that a problem?

thank you.

Does environment entry have to be fully 3D? What about matte paintings? Paint-overs?
